Large Tonsils

My kids went for their check ups this week and both have large tonsils. They will both probably need their tonsils out just in case they suffer from sleep apnea ( may also have to have a sleep study to confirm this)  and this is freaking me out somewhat but I know there are worse things that could be wrong. Just wondering if any of you have been through this yourselves or with your kids.
