I just took a survey and after entering my phone number I was automatically signed up for the product with a $9.99 charge from a $1.00 survey. Just wanted to throw this out there for everyone to beware of the terms and conditions. Has this happened to anyone else or are there any vets to this site that can offer any bits of advice to look out for to avoid something like this?
It would help to know the name of the offer you signed up for. You are correct about the importance of always reading the Terms and Conditions of all offers before you give out your phone number, cell number or credit card information. I have signed up for a few offers which provide a 7-day or 30-day free trial with the option of canceling should I choose to opt out before the trial period expires. In these cases, there would be no charge because I am still within the free trial period. I don't see how you could be charged $9.99 for something you decided you were not interested in if you had only given out your phone number, unless it was your cell number and you gave the sponsor a confirmation code. In that case, you must honor the terms and conditions of the offer you signed up for. The sponsors are putting their ads on FusionCash in order to promote their product or service, after all.
Bottom line: always read the Terms and Conditions before you sign up for any offer and only give out personal information for the offers you are
interested in if they will involve a cost to you. Many offers are free and only require that you fulfill the requirements of the offer for crediting, such as the Groupon offer or the ZUMBOX offer. Look under Offers/Free for those, but be sure to read all the fine print anyway. That's just plain common sense. Other than one TV offer for Yoshi knives that I was INTERESTED in, I have not paid out any money out for offers I was credited for since I joined in March. You just have to be careful out there. It also helps to check the topics in the forum to see what other members are saying about offers you may be considering before you sign up for them. Checking the Offers topics can also lead you to offers you might otherwise not have considered. The forum can be a very useful tool in this regard. My advice: use it.
