I need to vent , I been really struggling and trying to deal with my husbands death, now i been doing things to keep my mind occupied, sometimes it helps but sometimes the memories are still there, I have not been getting much luck you see my husband was the provider, noe i have been having bad luck with jobs, my poor son is working and he is trying to hold down all the weight, now he is paying the rent and the other bills, thank god for food stamps but i recertification is coming up and hope i wont get denied, i still owe another $165.00 dollars to my landlord which I dont know where the H*LL im going to get it, now my son tells me they are cutting hours at work.  My light bill just came in where the H*LL im gonna get the money for that too. im going through some rough SH*T...just needed to vent, My mind has been thinking about doing things I dont want to do jus t to get the money but my husband will come from his grave and take me and I dont want that...I dont know what to do, I ask god for help  ask my husband for help I need to see some light somewhere or im gonna go nuts....thanks all for reading just needed to vent....
From Latina1129-AKA-Arlene

@Latina1129-AKA-Arlene So glad you feel comfortable with your FC family to vent and talk freely with all of us. So many suggestions for yoy to pick from we are all here for you so you vent all you want we hear you
I have a suggestion also Here in Ma  they have what is called section 8 which you have to apply for but this will pay your rent directly to your landlord so I would definitely look into that oops sorry just checked this is Gov sponsered gov.org and take a look My sister rents to a family and they applied for Section 8 and were accepted and the check goes directly to her from the Government so it is a win win for you and your land lord
Once again I am very sorry for your loss You take care  God Bless

Like she said, she needed to vent.  After awhile she will be able to start finding some ways to help herself and some of the ideas on here have been really good.  I hope she comes back here and reads all of the posts once she gets herself collected a bit.

So sorry for your loss. Some of the previous members gave some great suggestions on finding work. Right now any job is a good thing. I know in other circumstances you may not want to work at a particular job, but for the time being you need to get whatever job is available. Try to find whatever assistance is available to you. Go to food banks so that the money you do have is used towards rent and bills. garage sales are a good way to clear out things you don't use. Continue with your work on FC and other survey sites in the mean time.

Im vey sorry for your loss. I know its got to be hard but you gotta stay stong.Thank God for your son. I pray for elevation for him until you see your way through. God will provide. Find strength in God right now. He is the one who can heal your heart and give you the peace you need, It will take some time. Pray for the favor of God because everything thats coming your way will not be money. God know how to take care of you. He will but gotta try yourself and ask for directions and provision. I wish you the best my sister!!

@jcribb16, thank you for your comment in favor of this lady's recent loss. In her last post, I've expressed my feelings about the loss of my husband in March 2, 2009. The fact is, when you lose someone that has been a part of you for so long, it's like losing half of your soul. You can't just shut off your grief like you could a light switch or a water faucet. Her road to recovery, emotionally, & financially is a long hard one. It took me about 2 years before I got my self financially ok, thanks to my Older sister who's a banker & helped me get my Husband's final financial issue together. You'd think, 6 months to a year I would have gotten all that done but there was so many barriers that got in my way. So, many rules & regulations in which to learn & deal with. So, many times that I broke down & gave up thus pushing me back the starting point again & again. So, many times when I forcefully dragged myself up from the abyss of my depression to try again. Even now, I'm financially ok, his pension small that it is, is a big help. With that small comfort, I still from time to time catch myself crying silently or other times balling & screaming out tears of rage! Today, with him gone, I feel like I'm trying to learn how to live half a life. As for @dreamyxo, I sense that you were offering out the tough love call...which is good, but kind of let her vent for a couple months more or so, I think by venting out her frustrations & worries is a way to help her process through mentally & emotionally to help her get to the answers she needs to go on with her life.   :peace:

I am sorry again for your loss.  Everyone has given you good advise, so there is nothing really I can add.  But what I am doing for you is pray.  I am a prayer warrior and I will pray for you often and may God be with you in your loss.  I recently lost two family members so I feel you sorrow as well.

Arlene, getting at least a part time job will help not only with finances, but it will help you to stay busy and not have so much time to think and grieve. I know you probably don't feel like you could handle anything like a job, but give it a try. It certainly doesn't help to just sit and mourn, you have to get your body and your mind going. I'm not trying to sound harsh, or unsympathetic, sorry if I come across that way. But if you keep busy and get out of the house, your mind will perk up and you'll start to see past your grief. While you are looking for work, you might be able to volunteer for something, maybe at a pet shelter. Animals can help cheer people better than other people sometimes.

I am so sorry for your loss.  I could not even imagine what I would do if my husband died.  It is so sad and there are no words I can say that will help.  Just try and keep your head up and continue living and breathing.

Tantricia,

Thank you for what you said.  I remember so well what my mom went through when my dad died.  She was  a strong and independent lady but crumbled when he died.  She did like you with your loss - she tried hard, stumbled, got up, tried again.  She had a lot of family/friend support, but it took time and she made it.

I did not know you suffered the loss of your husband, as well.  I am really sorry about that.  Your post is a good example of what Arlene can read (as well as many others in here who have been so kind and supportive to her) and see that she will make it, too.

Once again, thank you!
