I've been in similar situations-I'm always the nice person that tries to help everyone and can sometimes get pushed over....I just try to show tough love to that person-obviously, if they're not respectful enough to pay you back (or at least mention it), they're not worth being your friend, so just let it go......don't let it bother you or bring so much negative energy into your life.....for me, I just let God be the source of justice.....maybe someday somebody will make it up to you (somewhat) in another way....

I use to loan out money when I was much younger, but this created big issues when they did not return the money. I began pestering them constantly and this created bad chemistry between us eventually. Nowadays I don't lent money unless I have the mindset of not getting anything back. I do treat friends or we might take turns paying things, but that's different.

I learned a long time ago not to loan money to relatives they never pay you back! And as for loaning money to Friends it's one way you can weed out your bad friends from the good ones!

Money is sacred. Never lend out money, you will never get it back. Let me clarify, I would only lend money to my children or parents. Thats it. ANyone else has to find other means. My Money, what little I have is mine and will not be going to anyone anytime. I had an experience and I got burned. Never, ever again.

never a borrower or a lender be...especially with friends and family.  Every time that I have not adhered to this rule I have been burned.  I have kept momentos from each failed loan: a $50.00 jacket for $900.00 never paid back, an eagle statue from an employee that hasn't paid $2,000.00 back, a ticket stub for $250.00 never paid back.  There are online venues for lending that I now use when working with friends that act as intermediaries and give me a good return on money lent out for a small percentage.

Now I am much older. Years later,  I realize lending money sometimes is a bad thing. Especially to family and friends. I have done it so many times. I cant do it now. Everybody knows not to ask for me for money anymore because I no longer have it like that anymore. Everybody that I have helped along the way, are still working but you think they ask me if i need help or just give me money. Because sometime they didnt have to ask me for money. If I knew their situation I would just give it. I sure learned my lesson.
