Vacation Bible School

Vacation Bible School was such a big part of my life growing up. We always had so much fun. Our VBS starts next week. After a few years of absence due to work and health issues, I will be teaching the Pre-Primary class this year. It is such a joy to see children excited to learn about Jesus Christ.

Our theme is "Rev It Up" ~ Full Throttle for God. A full week of fun and excitement is planned around The Word of God: an actual race car & driver will be there, go cart rides, horseback riding, inflatables, "candy rain" (candy thrown off the roof of church to children standing below with buckets), petting zoo, fun games, cute crafts, yummy snacks and the list goes on.

I have such fond memories of vacation bible school too!  I remember the crafts and all the wonderful bible stories.  I think this is a great tool to introduce Jesus Christ to so many children because a lot of those who do not go to church will send the kids to vacation bible school and they learn so much.  I remember my son loved going .... I only wish he still went to church.  I now have a 9 month old grandson and I pray he will learn about Jesus ... his parents are "different" and need prayer.  I hope I will be able to take him to church when he gets older.
