i love daffodils. i love the bright yellow color, the unique shape of them, and the fact that when i was growing up we lived next to a UGE meadow full of them and i would run out and pick my mom vase fulls all the time. for more traditional flowers, like roses, i like the dark yellow ones with the really dark green leaves or the paler yellow ones wiht the pinkish-red tinge to the ends of the petals

Tulips....I have seen them given as holiday/birthday gifts more than roses. They look similar to roses; look sturdier....gentle smell.

Roses are my favorite flower. My husband every month for our first year of marriage got me thirteen roses each month and had them delivered to my job.  They were always a different color, the florist enjoyed trying to find something new and different each month.
