Brushing Baby Gums

I just had a newborn.  How soon should I start using that finger toothbrush to brush her gums?  I'm sure there's like infant "toothpaste" at the store that will say when to start but, just wondering.

we didn't start until the first tooth was coming in

I've heard some people brush their gums just so they get used to having something in their mouth like a toothbrush.

not sure but ur the mother. if u wanna do it then i dont think ne one is gonna stop u. get a very soft brush though and gently brush the gums.

they said baby's teeth start coming up from 3 months so when the baby is 3 months or more, you can use your finger rub the gums and soothe it. if you wanna use brush, I think it is better when the baby has the first tooth. now my baby has 2 teeth, sometimes he put the brush in his mouth.
