I prefer one of each with both of them working properly.  Not always an easy task under windows but I can hope, can't I?  My husband needs the desktop for his games & I need the laptop for everything else :)

I think each has an advantage, even though it seems that the advantages that laptops have over desktops seem to be growing ever year. I had one of both, the desktop for projects, important stuff and the laptop for travel.

I have always had a desktop until this year when it "died".

I don't like the mouse feature on laptops, so I use a mouse with my laptop.

I have had 2 laptops; the first one lasted 5 years, then caught a major huge virus. I got Stop Sign firewall and prefer it over Norton and such. I had a Toshiba laptop and the fan burned out because it was too hot with normal daily use. I didn't want to get small parts to "keep it together" - prop it up and all that. I bought a desktop (e machines) and am happy with it.

I have had a desktop for years and love it.  Not too long ago I won a nice laptop and I am having a hrd time getting used to it.  I finally got a mouse and now use the laptop for certain things, but do most of my stuff on the desktop.  For one thing, I have a big screen on my desktop and the laptop is obviously much smaller.

I prefer both.  Desktop for home/business and laptop for travelling.

They both serve different purposes. One is portable and can be used anywhere. The desktop is stationary. I like both however. Although I would like to have an iPad2.

I have a desktop and a laptop. I use the laptop a lot because I can use it anywhere, although there are more programs on my big computer. They each have their purpose.

I'm also in the each have their purpose boat. :) 95% of the time I use a laptop and I'm using my laptop exclusively for school right now. BUT when I get a job I'm going to want a desktop if only to prevent it from being dropped and possibly losing all my data that way. LOL
