I've heard so.  I really like mine with lemon added.  Minus the sugar of course.

If you switch from high calorie drinks to water, then yes.

The only thing that supposedly helps with water is that it is supposed to fill you up to prevent you from eating.

It doesn't help me at all :D

I am not so sure but I know that water is definitely healthy for you. The only thing that will help shed belly fat is eating right, exercise, and etc.

Water is an important part of healthy living.  It doesn't directly help you lose fat, but it will help you feel better, look better.  Also, getting enough sleep helps you lose weight.

Yes, water does help.  It fills the stomach slightly, and can (temporarily) stave hunger.  Also, drinking two full glasses of water about an hour before eating is supposed to suppress the appetite slightly, as there is a bit less room in the stomach for food.

An interesting trick to burn a few extra calories (about 70) a day is to drink 8 oz glasses of ice water a day.  This is simple chemistry:  it takes one calorie to raise 1 g of water by one degree Celsius.   And since ice water is about 0 degrees, and body temperature 37 degrees, drinking the full 8 glasses as ice water will burn more than simply cold water.  It isn't much a day, but that 70 calories a day translates to about 25550 (7.3 lbs) a year.  (Thanks http://health.howstuffworks.com/wellness/diet-fitness/weight-loss/question447.htm for raw numbers)

But that won't all be belly fat.  It is false that you can "spot reduce" weight loss.  Fat will be reduced from all over the body in equal amounts; for women, unfortunately (or fortunately for some) that includes breast fat.

It definitely helps.  When you don't get enough water, your body retains more water or "water weight".  When you drink more water, your body functions more naturally and doesn't need to retain as much water.

A lot of times, when you're thirsty you're actually hungry. So yes, drinking water will help you lose weight because you won't feel the need to eat as much.
