Conspiracy Theories
« on: April 04, 2011, 08:23:18 am »
A guy I know is conviced that 9/11 was an American government conspiracy. I know our government is very corrupt, but to actually believe they would willingly kill so many people is just beyong my comprehension. I think he is full of it, but what are your opinions?

"Did you know that over 1/4 of people in American think 9/11 is a conspiracy? 1/4 of Americans are retards." ~South Park

In my opinion, someone will make a statement, perhaps true....perhaps not, then someone will just accept it as fact with no research or investigating of their own. Then they repeat it and so it goes.

So, have you researched the subject at all, or are you basing your assumption of the truth of the matter simply from conversations with others?
Likewise, why do you say the government is corrupt? I'm not saying that is a false statement, rather I am wondering what you are basing the opinion on? Hear say? research? personal experience?

This habit of laziness on our parts is what allows many regulations to be imposed with little if any input from the masses. A lot of these rules would never win the popular vote but sneak thru simply because as a whole, we are too damn lazy to make our selves aware of what is really happening.

It is very difficult to find the truth on almost anything and if you rely on main stream media you are really lost. They do anything but report. Credible journalism is very hard to come by. One has to be very resourceful to get meaningful information. Sad part is so many buy into what they :( hear and see.

I am not one to take anything the media reports on as true. I try and research what I can, but it is hard to find information that isn't agenda-based. Likewise, I try and form my own opinions without going off of what others say. As for the government being corrupt, I did a few research papers throughout college and otherwise it is just stuff I have noticed over time. Basically, money runs everything! I am not completely anti-government or anything like that, but I do think their part in our lives should be limited.

i've done a lot of research into conspiracy theories and a lot of it makes sense to me, the way i think about it is...i'd rather think that the conspiracies are all true (or at least mostly true) and have it come to fruition than to not believe it and have it come to fruition. and if it's all BS, that's fine too.

and if you don't believe that 9/11 was a conspiracy, google "9/11 cut beams" and look at the images that come up and tell me that it's normal for a building that collapsed of its own accord to a) have beams that look like they've been cut like they would in a demolition, b) have a molten substance coming out of the cut beams like would in a demolition, c) collapse in the pancake effect like in a demolition instead of falling over. look at videos of a controlled demolition and then look at how the towers fell (not to mention tower 7 fell the same way and wasn't hit by ANYTHING). if something doesn't strike you as odd...the government has done a fine job of brainwashing you.

We had 6 pages of discussion on this (9/11 'conspiracy') back in September of 2010. Everything written by foreverinlove05, and MUCH more, was refuted and debunked. I am not saying we as Americans got the entire story, but please do more 'research' and NOT only within pages written by people with absolutely no clue as to structural engineering or anything else for that matter. Here's the thread if you're interested.

all i have to say is that the conspiracy theory makes more sense than thinking it was a terrorist attack. generally all the major events in history were instigated or planned, everything causes cancer, the TRUE powers that be are trying to destroy the two remaining monotheistic religions (christianity and islam), and the media is controlling you. and the media isn't something you can debunk either because subliminal messaging is EVERYWHERE and the symbolism frequently used is proven to have satanic origins.

otherwise it's a shame that this thread has been repeated, but posts are posts :)

I wasn't a member then, I will definitely check out the other thread and read through what others had to say since this one isn't going anywhere. Thanks jordandog.

I wasn't saying in any way that you should NOT have started this thread, it's all good. ;) I just had to put the other one up after I saw the post from foreverinlove about the buildings.

No I am glad you did, yal all posted some interesting links. I'm still going through watching and reading all of the material, but there was a pretty good debate there. I just find that most conspiracy theories in general are based on small bits of information that are exploited to validate whatever explanation is being discussed. Believers will not take into account the rebuttals and fail to open their mind to any other explanation. I like hearing all of the different opinions and discussing them, but people have to be able to listen and actively discuss the issues, which rarely happens anymore. I was just hoping for some more information and insight really, besides that which I have already been exposed to. So, that previous thread is a good read!

it is true that all my information comes from the internet...which makes it lose come credibility, but honestly i'd have a hard time believing that stuff like MK ULTRA (celebrity mind control) would be made up, even if all the conspiracy stuff about 9/11 is untrue...it still doesn't explain why so much stuff was hidden, sounds very fishy to me. if the building collapsed, there shouldn't have been anything that blew up to the extent that pieces of the towers were found several hundred yards away...i subscribe to a lot of channels on youtube that talk about how heavily controlled the media is along with celebrities...it's very easy to get away with stuff like that because people don't think (or don't want to accept the fact) that the government would consider the governed so expendable.

While it's hard to "verify" that USA INC was behind 9-11...... their "reasons" most people believe they have for NOT doing it... are VERY FRAUDULANT!!! Start your investigation with the word "money".... and check to see if you TRULY have any!!!
