So...how long is too long to be sitting on the toilet?? I understand that sometimes it takes a while to go and it's go to take your time and get some relief, but honestly....

sometimes i don't what in the world mine
is doing in the bathroom. we generally eat
the same things, so i'm not sure how he's
in there twice as long as i am :/

i know talking about bathroom behavior
grosses some people out, but i've heard
this topic come up many times! not just
among my friends... what gives, guys? haha.
[ we all have a place in history. mine is in the clouds. ]

LOL CharranS!!!

I remember the kids sitting outside the bathroom door and sliding little notes under the door to me.  I just have to laugh at the memories.

Now the cat will come to the door and rub his front feet up and down the door like he is
pawing to get in.

No peace :)

I think of bathroom etiquette to include washing your hands, putting the seat down and closing the door, but as to how much time to do your "business" a person should be given the time to clear his/her bowels (unless they're spending much of the time reading or doing others things too).

A big bathroom etiquette thing for me is the seat up or down. I say, leave it how you found it.

I think the whole "women complaining about the seat being up" thing is retarded.  What makes you so special??  lol  It makes more logical sense to leave the seat AND the lid down when not in use.  Looks better and is more hygienic...plus no risk of things falling in there.  :P

The time in the bathroom can be annoying when someone else needs to use it.

I recently read in an article that it really is a good idea to put the lid down on the toilet, if there is one because a significant portion of what is getting flushed gets vaporized for all to breathe in. Also, when those low-flow toilets came out, I flushed one and saw that water landed on the surfaces outside the toilet. Talk about gross! I'd rather clean only the lid when that happens than the entire bathroom each time it happens. I don't like to think about walking through my own or someone else's "stuff" that landed on the floor on my way to the toilet.

I think that washing hands and flushing the toilet is very important, too.
