I could use some advice

I need some advice on anti virus programs  right now I have trend Pencillian
My  sububsrtion is do to come up soon
 does any body have a better one than this one
should i stick with trend or go to another?

I have used Avast for years which is free for home users and love it.

i was told by several comuter guys that avg free is good for a free antivirus

I honeslty don't know a thing about anti virus but my dad uses Mcafee and it works great until his subscritptions runs out so far he's gotten like 3 trojans....
