Help, please -- Problem with oversized pop-up ad on laptop

I have a new Window 7 laptop.

Occasionally, I click to close an ad and  get a pop-up window that asks me " do I really want to close etc" -- but the window is of a size that I cannot click on the link (very bottom of the page) because it is below the laptop window.  I cannot make the window smaller nor can I move the window higher to get at the link.  (Or at least I haven't figured out how to do that)

My laptop screen is 9 inches high and 17 inches wide.  The nuisense pop-up window is  10 inches+ high and 6 inches wide.

At the moment, all I've been able to do is Cont/Alt/Del to get the Windows task manager and click end job -- but that wipes out all of my open windows not just the one I want to get rid of.

Would welcome any suggestions on how to solve this problem more easily.

I got one of those recently and couldn't drag the ad up or down to get to the button.  Then I just tried hitting "enter" on the keyboard and that worked for me for that ad - apparently the focus was on the right button so hitting enter did the trick.  Try that, or if that doesn't work, try tapping your left or right arrow keys then enter to try to blindly shift the focus to a different button.

Beyond that, may just be the nature of the internet beast.  Good luck!

the other thing you can do is hit the windows button (the 4 wavy squares) and the up arrow at the same time. this will make the popup window fill the whole screen so you can click whatever you need to click on. there's a really helpful article on all the keyboard tricks on windows 7 laptops, shortcuts and what not, just google windows 7 keyboard and go from there

Will also google the windows 7 keyboard and get educated.

I've having problems getting the refresh button and the back button to work -- discovered Alt Left works for the back button.  Probably is another alt click for refresh too.

This works exceptionly well.  And if it doesn't the first time, I hit escape and close again to get the pop-up back and then hit enter.  That usually does it.  Thanks again.

Swogden, your post couldn't have come at a better time.  I bought a new computer a couple of weeks ago with Windows 7 on it.  Yesterday the back button quit working.  Best Buy says bring it in, it's probably a software problem.  I don't want to take it back right now cause I'm only $9 away from cashing out this month again and they are always too busy this time of year so I know they'll keep it awhile.  The ALT/left buttons work well for temp fix......THANX
