McAfee Alert
« on: November 06, 2010, 09:06:09 am »
I run McAfee security software and I have been getting alerts when I attempt to Download the survey's from SSI an MyView daily survey. Has anyone else had this problem???The alert is showing when the process goes to another site for a survey because the original site --you did not qalify--and attempts to go to a sister site is when the alert comes up - I have received this a couple of times over the past two days. The alert indicates that the download either has virus or spyware on the download.. Any information will be appreciated..

I have had many problems with my computer after downloading one of the offers, and I still haven't got it completely fixed!  :BangHead: :crybaby2:

You shouldn't have to download anything to do the SSI and MyView surveys.  They are non-download offers, no different than the other three survey offers.

Sometimes, if you pre-qualify for a survey, the survey asks if you are willing to install an Active X plug-in, or some other plug-in, in order to do the survey.  If you are uncomfortable in doing it, or your anti-virus is giving red flags, you almost always have the ability to decline it, and they then disqualify you from that survey and take you to the next survey.

I run Avira and have never had a warning about any viruses or malware while doing any of the survey offers.

I got prompted for a download with the SSI Daily Survey; I actually came here to the forum to search and see if anyone had done this or not.

This is the message it gave me:

On the next page, you will be asked to download a browser add-on which will help us capture your responses to this survey. Your personal information and data will not be collected. Our add-on is 100% safe.

I'm really wary of downloading anything, so I think I'll skip this one.

Same here.  There's usually many other surveys to try and qualify for, especially under GiveUsYour2Cents and SSI.  I decline the ones which want to download add-ons, just because I'm kind of paranoid that way.  I'm sure they're completely safe, but I usually can qualify for another after declining it.  So why even bother?  ;)

I run avast home edition 4.0 anti-virus which is free for home users. It doesn't give errors at all and it is free. Go to avast.com to get it.
