What age should you be legal to drink alcohol? OPINIONS WANTED

I think that if you are old enough to serve our country, and are serving our country, you are old enough to drink. Wait till you are 21 if you aren't serving our country.

I think 18 is a good age, but there should be stricter penalties for driving under the influence.

I agree that if your of age to serve your country then you should be of age to drink... buuuut, not to sound like a hypocrit, have you seen the statistics from when the drinking age was 18 versus when they changed it to 21??? I mean, aren't there enough ppl killed by drunk drivers? or alcohol poisoning?? My cousin was a marine, and tho he was over 21, drinking not the military actually led to his death, all because he got into a car with a buddy that was drinking as well.. I just dont know if someone over 21 can't make the right decisions all the time, if we should actually count on ppl 18 making them, you know? I became a mother at 17, so like most young mothers, I thought that that should excempt me right?? uh no.. In actuallity aging from 18 to 21 that is a big step, and those years ppl tend to go through a lot... I think thats why 21 is actually a good age for drinking.. I do occasionally go out with my husband, and we steer clear of the 18 and up bars, and only go to the 21 and up because there is too much fightin and just plain retarded acting ppl in the 18 and up places... I'm not saying that ALL 18 y/o ppl aren't responsible, just most aren't lol.. And for that everyone tends to suffer.

I think a person should be eighteen years old to drink alcohol and the reason I say this is because I feel if a person only has to be 18 to go
fight for their country than they should be able to have a drink also.
I have learned in my life time that when you ban a person from something until a certain age that only makes them want to do it even more.
Kids like to rebel when they can't have something but when they have access to it they loose desire for it.
This goes to everything not just alcohol or not everything but alot of stuff, so eighteen would be a good age to me because thats not too
young to make good choices.

i would say 18 if you can be a legal adult, can vote, serve your country, and buy ciggs you should be able to have a drink every now and then!

I think that if you are old enough to go to war and decide on who runs our country, then you should be able to drink.  18 is my answer.
