Trickle down economics falsely assumes that people have a sense of decency and will actually 'spread the wealth'. It doesn't take into account that many are extremely greedy and would rather make more and more and share it with their closest friends. As far as "saving more", I would say that 99.9% of the wealthy Americans who are given tax breaks are investing the majority of that money abroad and not in the US, so how can that possibly help the small business owner who is struggling to stay alive and keep people in jobs? His employees are also NOT being paid a huge wage, but at least they have a paycheck and value every cent they make. I doubt the billionaire even remembers what a 'cent' is.

Goverment spending is destroying this country's economic base. It will not stop until we get a new president that LOVES America, and a congress filled with patriotic members.

You know what's destroying this country's economic base?  An obscenely bloated Pentagon budget.  "Homeland Security" that's gobbling up more and more and not making any of us safer.  Crap like that.

But oh yes, the president HATES America, THAT'S the problem.  If only real PATRIOTS would swoop in and fix everything!

Honestly, take your Fox News/Glenn Beck/Rush nonsense elsewhere.

Well, I think a big reason why people invest overseas is because of the use of it as a tax shelter. Same reason why a lot of companies moved overseas.

Saving includes investment like I said before, because even if you're not investing the bank is. Law here though is if you have your money in an American bank the bank cannot invest overseas. It's a revolving door though and obviously not an easy fix. I think though we could help ourselves more with lower taxes but with lower taxes comes less spending or you can't support everything. With lower taxes especially business taxes maybe more businesses come back to the US?

I'm sure you think I'm some kind of Republican, but I actually agree with everything you wrote about defense, homeland security, tsa, pentagon.

I can't stand 99.999% of Fox, but I'll be damned you say anything bad about Judge Napalitano. His show rocks, the rest can go take their neocon views and die in a fire.

Nah, I think you're a Libertarian, which is much better  :)  I can respect and understand at least some of your views.

See, Jdog, I knew we were kindred.  ;)

I am currently living through what happens when someone gets greedy... and its being perpetuated by a family member.  The district manager over the store he works in was promoted three weeks ago and three weeks ago she was his store manager.  She is related to me by blood, but that didn't keep her from cutting my husband's overtime on the time clock and cheating him out of 3-5 hours of overtime pay on a weekly basis.  What could be her motivation for this?  Perhaps it is because any overtime from the store comes out of the store manager's monthly bonus and the district manager's monthly bonus.  And, to think, if someone could do this to a family member, what could they do to a perfect stranger in an effort to get ahead?
