Home Inventory

So I keep changing my persuasive speech topic, and I've finally decided to try to persuade my classmates to go home and complete a home inventory sheet.  I know they all know that it's important, but bet more than half of them have not done it.  Do you have any ideas, tips, or stories you want to share with me that I could possibly add to my speech?  Maybe some of you had a tragic fire and want to share your story with me?  My boyfriend's sister (when asked to explain how she felt when she found out about her house catching on fire) said it was hard to explain how she felt.  To me, I don't know how it could be hard to explain but I guess I can't talk until I've been in the situation.
