OCD...
« on: October 31, 2010, 10:57:13 pm »
Does anyone else on here have OCD, if so, what are you OCD about?
I am crazy OCD, about nearly EVERYTHING. I think I drive my boyfriend absolutely nuts. If he leaves me alone in his room when he goes to work, he comes home to a colorized closet, and alphabetical ordered DVD collection lol.

I have it, but not in the sense that you are talking about. I could care less if things are organized properly, or in the right order. I have it in the form that I have to move in certain ways, or I get soooo upset... I know its weird... lol

I do not have it but have known others that suffer from it.  I think it subsides with older age.

Watch the movie "As Good As It Gets" with Jack Nicholson and Helen Hunt.  He has OCD.  It's a funny movie, but there are also some great life-lessons in there on how to deal with yourself and others who suffer from OCD.

My OCD is regarding the screen of my ipod touch and iphone.
They have to be spotless and have ABSOLUTELY NO fingerprints on them.
I carry around a lint free screen cleaner cloth thing.
Letting other people use my ipod/iphone makes me very nervous.
Especially if they have oily fingers.

OCD is no fun! Thru high school I used to really struggle with it... now I mostly count things. I HAVE to count stairs for some reason... strange. The hubby likes having everything super organized, but it makes our kids nuts that I make them hang clothes by type, and facing the "right direction". OK, I definitely sound nuts now! bwaaahahhaa

i don't seriously have OCD but from time to time,
but i do have my little quirks! when i set a magazine or
something down on a flat surface (coffee table,
counter, whatever) it has to be straight... the
crookedness bugs me.

i watched a dateline documentary a few years ago
that went inside the life of people with OCD. the
repetitive movement/counting... i can't imagine how
annoying that must be, being trapped by ticks like
that  :sad1:

i wash my hands a lot, but i think that's only because
the older i get, the more i care about germs, hah.
[ we all have a place in history. mine is in the clouds. ]
