interview stories
« on: October 22, 2010, 05:25:26 pm »
I am a manager and responsible for hiring....
I had a strange interview today - interviewed a highly qualified/educated individual today -- it was a phone interview - about 1/3 of the way through the interview she said "ut-oh I have go" --- there in finishing the interview.... strange/odd....

what are some of your stories?

That candidate might have a lot of book smarts but no common sense when it comes to interviewing technique.  :BangHead:

As Ian Malcolm once said, when you gotta go, you gotta go.

I went in for an interview and had an hours worth of paperwork. The lady kept saying when you got hired. I am sitting here thinking I am only here for an interview. It wasnt until after it was all over that I realized I was the only person she was here to interview.

the lady said her boss spotted her on the phone --- guess she didn't want them to know she was looking for a new job

Maybe she forgot the nature of the phone call. I also think the interview was not taken very  seriously by this person. A simple can you please hold on one min would have done the trick even if something of important had to be attended to at that time.

umm no the employer decides when the interview starts and ends not the interview. Hey Val you still looking for an employee? I might be able to be talked into relocating  hehe

Maybe the interview she was having with you wasn't the job she was really looking for and when the call for the job she wanted came thru so without thinking she said she had to go or she was a complete nut case.  LOL.
