Ever been laid off?

I got laid off recently. Its okay that I got laid off b/c I am excited about new opportunities BUT why do people look at me with a sad face?? Don't feel sorry for me...give me a $100 as a going away gift.

In 2006 I got laid off when the company I worked for moved out of state. After 5 months I got another job, and then in 3 months I got laid off again. I went back to school, but could only find temporary employment after that, until 5 months ago when I got another full time job. Hopefully I won't get laid off again for a loooonnnggggg time!

i got laid off in 2008 because i was pregnant. didn't like the way they did things anyway. now i stay at home taking care of my kids and make extra money on sites like this. once my second child gets a little older, i will start back to working again

I've been laid off a couple of times.  The last time was the best thing that ever happened to me.  I hated that job but stayed for 7 years because it was decent money and I had bills to pay.  The company got caught in a famous accounting scandal and filed bankruptcy and my call center closed.  I got severance for a couple of months and luckily I had a nice amount saved up.  I was actually happy when they announced we were closing.  Sometimes losing a job can be a blessing in disguise.

I HAVE NEVER BEEN LAID OFF FROM A JOB, BUT  I WAS ONCE ASSAULTED AT WORK AND SINCE THAT INCIDENT I HAVE BEEN HAVING TROUBLE FINDING WORK!!!
