dinner ideas for a crowd

My sister is coming to visit and we will be at my parents house everyday.  My mother is not able to cook anymore and I need to be responsible for cooking dinner for my family everyday.  Does anyone have any ideas?  I know I will never please everyone ... but I do want to try.  My parents are elderly and can't eat spicy foods.
