http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=EMS+Trainee+Dies&aq=fThat 48yr old man, my friends, was my neighbor.
I actually talked to him in person for the very first time face to face last week, besides just saying "hello" in passing. He was seeking baby advice for his 8 month year old son. Him and his wife were taking Sui'ki (their son) to the pediatrician. He was very polite and genuinely concerned for his baby's health. It made me feel good to give out "Mommy Advice", and I was flattered, as I barely knew this man. It was awesome to finally connect with another 1st time parent!!!
He said: "Well, thanks alot for your help, and take care!" "We gotta go now!"
I said: "Anytime y'all need anything, just come on over-no problem!"
He said "Wow, thanks again, see ya!"
On monday of this week, I walked out on to my front porch for my 1st coffe and cigarrett for the day, looked around as usual, and he was outside, working on his truck. Him and his wife always waived hello to me and everyone on our block. He waived a "hello" and I waived "hi" back to him. Just a normal day.
The next day, Tuesday, mid morning, I was conversating with another neighbor (Norma) about a dog we had been taking care of (owner gave it up). I noticed a blue city vehicle sitting on the corner. About 30 min later, two Austin police officers joined that city vehicle. Both myself and Norma speculated that someone called the city about the "Austin Leash Law", as she had to tie the dog up in the front yard, because it was chewing thru her fence. We saw the 2 officers and the city worker get out and walk towards Normas place, but they went to a different apartment, So we both shruged our shoulders, glad that the business of the police was not with us, and we went our separate ways.
It turns out the police were there to speak about him. He was dead.
They had come to inform his wife.
I hadn't put two and two together with the news report yet, until my neighbor Norma informed me early the next morning.
Something suprising happened the same day we heard the news. His wife, Michelle walked over to my apartment that afternoon, carrying her little son Sui-ki in her arms. She let me know that he had passed, and began to open up about what had happened the last 24 hours. I asked her how she was doing, and she said it was hard, but she was OK, ect. She asked about my little girl and other small talk, but all in all, I think she made peace with what had happened.....
Its amazing to me, how tangible that the people surrounding you are, everyday, and how easily they can be taken away, just like that. I had just spoken to him the day before, and now he's gone. I mourned for him.....
Never take the small things in life for granted. Hug your kids and kiss your husbands, pets, family, friends and neighbors.(if your'e on good terms, of course!!!)
Take notice of what is arround you.You can reach out and touch it one day, and the next day it could vanish forever.
Sorry, Falconer02!
Another Epic Post strikes again!!!!!!!! Sometimes,I just got to write it all out to get my point and what I'm feeling across in a situation, you know what I mean?
