Thanks for the warning.  I get e mails like this all of the time.  Some also have links to click on, but then you download viruses or who knows what.

I received a different one in the mail, it came from Canada.  Somehow someone got my first/last name and my business mailing address (which is strange because I don't use my actual name for the business).  I didn't keep the letter so I can only describe it to warn others and to give others a laugh at the stupidity of the scam.  It was a "job offer" as a mystery shopper.  The job details said one would be required to visit different businesses and give a review of the service.  It came with a check for $2500.00.  The first assignment was to take the check to Western Union and wire the funds to an address and write a review of the experience at Western Union... and get paid.   ::)

Oh yes i heard of this one and one person i know fell for it and the 2500.00 was to be deposited into her account then she was to wire half of it back but then by the time the bank got notice of the check being fake her bank account was wiped out for the entire 2500.00 plus.    Most people get your information from mailing lists and from people throwing there mail weither it be junk mail or bills etc into the garbage with the name address etc still on it.  I shredd every thing or burn it.  I had to go through alot to get my dads information cleared when a girl got his ss# and Phone # and was using it to get phone and other stuff turned on and to add long distance calling to my dads home phone so she could use it when she was there.  I could of really hurt that girl she was lucky she was with child at the time or she would of had a size 8-1/2 in her  :bootyshake:    have great day and Happy Fathers day to All You guys.

That's a pretty crazy scam.  Why would the UN be escorting boxes to random people?   ::)

I think IF anyone is STUPID enough to fall for it, then they get just what they DESERVE. A life lesson in the REAL WORLD, and it only cost them $2500.

Anyone who wants to much personal information especially via email is worthy of being ignored.  I worry about the personal information I use on any website because you never know when that information can be accumulated, intentionally or not, by some unscrupulous entity.  You are right something that looks to good just probably is.

My mother got a fake 2500 dollar check in the mail and we tested local places here to see who would say they could cash it. We went into 5 places and 3 of them said they could the following day. We ended up taking the fake check to a bank and were told they had 5 customers try and cash a fake check ( the same day ). They took the check and shredded it. Just goes to show how places here are in my town. They were really going to cash it.

Whenever I see emails I dont recognize I immediately delete them or send them to spam folder. there's so many scams online and off that you really have to be careful some emails can even get you into trouble with the law, even if you had nothing to do with the sender or dont even know the sender, there are some emails that can send file viruses to your computer after you open them and some email viruses can send illegal files or other harmful thing to your computer.

BEEE CAREFUL IF YOU DONT KNOW WHO ITS FROM DONT OPEN IT.

The bottom line here is, if you don't know the sender the email is better off deleted. If you didn't apply for any jobs or if you didn't enter any competitions it's a scam. If you read the letter closely you will see numerous typos and bad grammar in the text. No professional entity would submit such letters asking for personal information to be sent to an email address. Just be careful out there in the cyber world, it's full of criminals doing whatever it takes to make money at your expense.
