Will I get mail at my address?
« on: May 17, 2010, 04:02:42 pm »
I avoid the offers that require a phone number, but now I'm worried about giving my address. Will I receive junk mail at my address when I fill out offers?

I was really hoping there would be more surveys and less trials and other marketing schemes. I've made less than $10 and given out A LOT of information already. It makes me nervous, but I'm not ready to give up just yet.

I honestly only get about 3 pieces of extra mail every month and that would mostly be  coupons

Just got a call from a magazine subscription service. I must have given out my phone number on one of these offers. I'm hoping it wasn't FushionCash that gave my number out.

Is it really worth junk mail and sales calls for a little extra cash? It would be great if there could be a separate category for offers that don't require an address and phone number. I just want to give basic demographic info and fill out surveys. That's what I was hoping for, but maybe that kind of online "job" doesn't exist.

The daily $1 surveys that FusionCash has seem like they're exactly what you're looking for, right? Minimal demographic input, and mostly filling out surveys. In any case, junk mail isn't that bad. I've given hundreds of sites my info and while the junk mail has started to become noticeable, that's because I gave out my info like a madman. If you're being careful, you shouldn't have to worry. Besides, you can stop the junk mail:

I'd recommend parts 3-5 of that link for this type of junk mail. Basically, I'd recommend going through whatever junk mail you have and searching for contact info to ask if you can get removed from their list if you no longer wish to receive mail.

As for the phone calls, I've NEVER gotten any of those. That's probably because I've always used an online phone number from:

http://k7.net/

The number is free, and you can check your voicemail messages online if you want to. Good luck on FusionCash!

I use a phone number that I applied for at the k7 website also.  It cuts down on my phone ringing off the hook.  I can still contact anyone who leaves a message if I wish.  The number and service are free, but I hope nothing goes wrong with it or I do not get billed for something based on that phone number.  I have used it for a year now and it has been great!

You are getting paid for providing your contact info.  I am not worried at all about junk mail.  I just toss it.  I hate to waste the paper, but at least it can be recycled.  There are times when "junk mail" can be for something  good that you want to personally use or take advantage of.

Fusion Cash does not give out your personal info at all.

Do you mean the MyThoughtCounts daily surveys?

Thanks for the info!
