I use a small fan in the warm room to spread the heat to colder rooms. I also block off breezy windows & doors that let the warm air escape outside. Extra blankets & warm pjs/lounging clothes.

I turn my heat down 10º at night.  It rarely goes on, even when the temp is below zero. 

One of the greatest inventions is an electric mattress pad.  I get into my bed with my book, turn it on and before long, my bed is toasty warm.  I turn it off before I fall asleep.  If you don't read, etc. in bed, turn it on 15-20 minutes before you go to bed.

I use a small space heater in my bedroom. During the day I just use sweaters and my jeans while I'm in the apartment. It keeps me warm and it helps to have good insulation behind the walls and also seal any cracks that your windows may have. That will help really well to cut down on your heating bill.

I try to throw on a sweatshirt or cuddle up under a blanket instead of notching the temp up a couple of degrees. Also, when you're cooking leave the oven open after you're done and the heat will disseminate into your house. I still haven't figured out whether keeping the temp at a steady 67 degrees, or setting it for 69 while you're awake and home and dropping it down when you're gone or asleep saves electricity the most.
