People are having kids at much later ages these days people have kids in there 40s, and even 50s, so its not totally out of the question, though I personally wouldn't recommend it but its a free world right so to each's own.

But if you decide not to have more kids you still have grandchildren to look forward to or maybe you could adopt its up to you, its whatever you feel you can handle.

Id say 39 is about the maximum age you would want to have a child....any older makes it tougher and has more risks involved...plus, now your kids won't be grown till you are about 57/58....

this is just my opinion, but i don't think its a matter of being too old, just a matter or dealing with such a huge change. you haven't had to change diapers for 18 years. you haven't had midnight feedings for 18 years. you hae been able to actually understand and communicate with your child for at least 15 years. i had my son when i was 18 and my daughter when i was 26 and that was a huge adjustment, having to go back to diapers, breastfeeding, and dealing with some that can not do things by herself. so i can only imagine that the adjustment after 20 years would be twice as hard. your child is already grown and self-sufficient so you are basically free to have a "life". if you have another baby, you won't get a "life" til you're about 55!

It think it all depends on you, your health and the good Lord.  But a 19 year difference in age between children is going to be rough on you while that same child is 19 and also people may think the baby belongs to your 19 year old son.  These two children will never have that much in common because of the age difference.  Why did you wait so long to decide now that you want another child?  Good luck in your decision.

I'm not gonna lie, i wouldn't do it. But thats just me. I want to be in my mid 20's when i have kids. I feel like I would have more time in life with them. But my grandma had 12 kids, my mom was the last one and my grandma had her at 42. She's very healthy and 85 now but she could be 65 if she had my mom alot earlier, see what i mean? Well who knows maybe I would change my mind 20 years down the road or at least feel differently about it, but that's what I think for now. Whatever you decide, good luck!

You said yourself that you are obese. That is a HUGE risk factor right there for developing gestational diabetes and a myriad of other complications that go along with it. You can endanger not only your life, but the baby's also. Even women in their 20's who are obese have tough pregnancies. If you have a decent doctor, I feel he/she would warn you of this BEFORE you even considered trying to get pregnant. This is just my opinion, but it is based on fact. If it was the 2 of us sitting down talking and you asked me, I would tell you no. I don't feel it would be fair to you or the baby.
