The Last Airbender Movie
« on: March 19, 2010, 08:29:31 am »
Is anyone waiting for the movie, The Last Airbender, by M. Night Shyamalan? It is based on a cartoon which aired on Nickelodeon about a boy with the ability to bend (use) the four elements; air, water, fire, and earth. He had to master these elements so he could defeat the evil firebenders, ending a war, and bring balance to the world.

I loved that show! Too bad they ended it, the storyline was superb :(

When I saw the movie premier I have to say I was kind of disappointed... the characters weren't well represented in my opinion. But I'll still give it a chance, maybe it'll turn out better than expected... what do you think?

Because this is a movie based on a cartoon, I think the changes of it being great is not very high. It seems people can't or don't have to tell a story correctly because they always want to change things, and an example of this is the Dragonball Z movie. It was made a few years ago, based on an anime. I've never seen it but from what I've read, it sounds crappy. The Street Fighter movie made many years ago with Jean-Claude Van Dam didn't follow the anime.

Loved the series, but M. Night Shyamalan is not the director I would have picked to make this movie... He hasn't made a good movie in years.
