Yep same with me. I've sent resume's through emails. I found jobs on craigslist and of course they always say they dont want phone calls and they dont list their business name either. I've not heard back from them and same thing, keep getting ads for phantom jobs "home depot is hiring, click here now!". Ugh. I keep applying for admin jobs and seriously, how would you even begin to know who is hiring and who is not unless you scour the phone book and the entire city. Its ridiculous. I even went onto the staffing service I use to use to see what jobs they had posted and they have practically NOTHING. Nothing in my city at least. Plenty of jobs in Dallas. Too bad I'm in Houston.
Now with unemployment, we'd get it longer if congress would get off its butt and make a decision but they have us on the back burner. Last I heard yesterday they were pushing for a one month expansion to give them time to decide BUT its not been decided so it is not official.
Some of us need the help because its not easy out there anymore. If I went to apply at burger kind, with my background they would say I am over qualified. I did get one job offer but its over an hour out of my way. By the time they deduct child support, I pay bills and get gas, I'd have nothing left.
We are not alone friends. We can at least take some comfort in knowing there are enough of us that they will be forced to extend unemployment and come up with more jobs.
