Not to mention all kids should go outside everyday and play. Can't rely on tv's and nintendo to raise our kids... although some people do these days.

Yes this is definitley true. The daycare my son attends actually says its required. Although when its freezing I do not agree with it because I dont want my baby getting sick.

I think they should have more than an hour personally. My son loves being outside and as long as it's above freezing, he's usually out. We had a stretch of nine days where our highs were in the teens and it was killing him to stay in, even with his video games.
There are kids his age and younger in our apartment complex that I never see outside at the park or basketball court. If I didn't see them get off the school bus, I wouldn't know they lived here. And of course they are the ones who are overweight.

well i wouldnt say it keeps their lungs clean coz there are so many things that are polluting the air nowadays. but yes i agree they need at least 1 hr outside coz they get exercise and u know how important exercising is right now im this obsese country. and getting them away from the tv once in a while is good. the more fresh air and exercise they get the easier u can get them to take a nap and finally have some piece and quite and time to urself to get things done that u couldnt otherwise do when ur kid is awake.

We live in woods pretty far from mostly everyone so i dont think to much pollution is a problem and as far as nap that not option after 4 years old at least in my neck of woods,but it does help them sleep at night :wave:but thanks for comments

Not to mention that nowadays so many children are overweight because they miss out on that hour of playtime. Kids just need to be active.
School, then an hour to play outside, then an hour to do homework, and then finally video games/computer/tv/whatever else.

Well we are in blizzard area,and we had a blast stayed outside thirty minutes in morning,then thirty minutes in the evening to very hyper 5 and 6 year old boys .Came in had hot chocalate ,bath ,dinner,and right to sleep .they loved sledding !
