Title: Hiring a speaker for an event

How much would it cost to hire someone for an event? Where could one even ask about that?

That would depend on who you got as a speaker.  I'm sure someone famous would charge a lot to be a guest speaker.  It would also depend on the what you want them to speak about.

It's hard to say how much it would cost to hire someone for an event simply because speakers from different niches with different qualifications might ask for different prices. The easiest way to find out the price is to contact companies that offer the services of a keynote speaker in the niche you need.
We had two keynote speakers (https://keynotespeakers.info) at the event dedicated to mental health my company organized, and their performance was awe-inspiring. People were genuinely listening to their every word. Unfortunately, I don't know how much they asked for the speech they gave, but I'm sure it was worth it.
