What states follow daylight saving time?

Daylight saving time in the United States. Most areas of the United States observe daylight saving time (DST), the exceptions being Arizona (except for the Navajo, who do observe daylight saving time on tribal lands), Hawaii, and the overseas territories of American Samoa, Guam, the Northern Mariana Islands, Puerto Rico,.

I am more than ready for Daylight Savings Time to be abandoned.  I don't know anyone who likes it.  Just as I am becoming used to the changes in the morning and in the evening, then comes Daylight Savings messing with it.  Most of the people I am familiar with say their sleep and how they feel is messed with for about a week afterwards.  All from that tiny little hour...

Everything changes when this is in effect, every time I call someone on these time zones, I have to remember to check the time!

Here on FC, since it's based in California, it's 1 hour more till we can use the site for the next day.. now multiply that across the US and you see the confusion.

I always set my Clocks back Saturday night at Bedtime. That way I am not surprised on Sunday when I  wake up.

I don't know why we still do this.  One time years ago I had a clock in the dinning room and one in the living room  set an hour apart.  Didn't change a clock for 2 years just the one I looked at for the time.

I love Daylight savings time when it is implemented as we gain another hour of sunlight in the pm & that is fantastic to get things done - I don't like "losing" the hour though.    I don't like when they turn off daylight savings after Halloween & it starts to get dark so early.  We voted to keep daylight savings & not change it here in California, I believe the vote went through, I don't know what happened with that... typical California tho, voters vote bills in & the politicians & courts deny them.  :/

Already set the bedroom clocks ahead will do the kitchen before I go to bed.  Like the longer amount of daylight as I don't turn on lights until much later in the evening and saves electricity.

Anyone who wants to eliminate DST doesn't realize that daylight would take place a 4:30 in the morning. i definitely don't want to wake up at 5-6 a.m. in the morning. I love DST because it gets daylight at 5:30 in the morning and more daylight time at night to do things. They can eliminate the time we're on now because in mid-winter, it's still dark  at 7 a.m. and gets dark at 4-4:30 p.m. Can't get anything done in those hours.

I don’t happen to like daylight savings time either. I wish that we didn’t have to worry about changing the clocks like this twice a year. Oh well, I set it up early this year. Thankfully my smartphone always keeps the correct time and sets itself automatically, unlike all the other clocks in my house that I have to set manually.

While I don't like losing the hour of sleep on the day DST begins, I do enjoy the extra light at the end of the day .  I work 7a-7p shifts so having daylight left at the end of the day is a big bonus for me especially in the summer when it is warm outside.
I adapt fairly quickly to the time change so it doesn't really bother me like it does some folks.

I don't get that at all.  People say it messes them up for weeks and weeks.  How do you travel?  When you go to a state with a different time zone how do you function?  How do you ever get over it?  I think it is just one more thing for people to complain about.  I do agree I wish they would leave it alone.  One way or the other.  But it is not a big deal.  Besides that you get an extra hour of sleep time.

Again TellWut hits the nail!

survey question:
Experts say "falling back" may feel a little different this year as the COVID-19 pandemic has upended our usual schedules. Some professors predict the time-warping nature of the crisis could ease the adjustment, while a permanent-time proponent says the one-hour shift will compound the discombobulation of life under lockdown. Did you find this daylight savings time easier to adjust to than usual?

I will be glad when they do away with it and just leave it one way or the other.  A few states like Hawaii don't even bother with it.
