Title: Expiration Dates
Post by: Mizzkizz7 on July 07, 2018, 08:22:14 pm
Make sure you check your expiration dates on your food products. There was a woman who fixed her son expired pancake batter, she mixed it and made pancakes.  just simply making breakfast and her son died because the mix was old but of course mom didn't know. Check your fridge and also can foods. :)

I always check expiration dates.  Paranoia is good for the soul...and body.

this was most likely due to the persons allergy of mold, not the expiration date.

I have always checked expiration dates, especially in stores I’m not really familiar with.

OMG, to the OP. Sorry to hear about the young boy's death. Some people really take the expiration dates for granted. There is a reason that manufacturers have them on there. Beverages can be stretched somewhat past the expiration date. But I do not negotiate on food products. If it is old, discard them immediately.

That's really sad, I wonder what was in the mix to actually kill someone.  When in doubt throw out.

OMG.... that is terrible.  I do check expiration dates & toss appropriately.  The only ones I ignore are the eggs... I'll eat eggs like 2 weeks passed the expiration date.

I go thru the refrigerator once a week the day before garbage day and check the dates and the pantry and freezer I do once a month.  Had my sister make me tea at her house once and it looked funny but tasted OK but when I got home my stomach did not feel right.  She later told me that we she finally cleaned her cabinets it had expired 2 years previously.

Eggs you can tell by the color of the yolk when you crack it.(Darker) Expired eggs aren't that bad unless it hasn't been months and months.
