No, I don't celebrate it... I think it is just a ploy by the greeting card and chocolate companies to make money... My boyfriend and I celebrate Single's Awareness Day (the day after Valentine's) instead... It reminds us how close we are to being alone again and renews our interest in working thru the small stuff.

Oh, Valentine's Day
Every year, until, I was 12, I celebrated Valentine's Day with my friends, and never even considered having an actual "Valentine".
When I turned 12 or so, I started dating, and I became interested in the concept of having a "Valentine".
As I got older, I noticed a trend. I, along with so many others, always get dumped right before, or on, Valentines Day.
It sucks; However, I'm almost 16 now, and I still go to the store each year and purchase a box of Valentine's to give to my friends.

I don't celebrate it, but I do send Valentines to my great grandchildren, they are the only ones, because they are little.

My husband and I do celebrate valentines day. What I don't understand is people who include everyone else in the celebration...Aunts,uncles,brothers,sisters,mothers,fathers,you name them, everyone is included. I always thought valentines day was the day you honored your one romantic love, not everyone that you love or even just like.

in the residential community apartment complex where I live, we select a king and queen for a year. We'll have a party.
