So your walking into target and you feel as if every female shopper is evaluating you? what goes thru your head when you see a woman wearing an up to date or not so up to date fashion? Do u judge her? Do u evaluate the type of woman she may be......Are you one that gets new iteas from random woman that flaunt there style in public? I NEED TO KNOW???

I don't feel like that walking into Target or any other store...only when I walked into the church I used to go to. All most of the women did was gossip about "so & so's" outfit/shoes and talk about where they bought it and how much they paid for it or have a bash session on someone that wasn't dressed like they thought they should be. I decided to leave and find a church where there was less emphasis on what everyone was wearing and more appreciation for the fact that they made the effort to come to church. Life shouldn't be about flaunting anything in public--- I think life should be more about helping the public...imo.

Yeah I think most women, me included, judge others. I don't know why, but my first thought is usually analyzing what others look like. It's not necessarily bad thoughts, but like you said, I analyze head to toe how other women are dressed and then come up with scenarios why they may be wearing such things. I love to people watch!

I do think many women do this kind of evaluation, however, I don't think it is always from a critical stand point. I know for myself I find it interesting what people put together and how they carry it off. I do notice, of course, that there are those that carry off some styles better than others. I, personally, get great ideas from what I see other people put together and have a real appreciation for other women's sense of style. And like an earlier writer - I, too, enjoy people watching and notice everything from hair to shoes.

I'm guilty, too. Sometimes I wish I was as pretty or thin or young as them, then other times I think they need to get a belt, and some things some of them wear in public I wouldn't be caught dead in. They probably judge me too.

i'm guilty of that sometimes, but i don't really see it so much
judging as i do observing. i try not to think negatively
of other women/people based on what they're wearing.
i guess i used to more when i was younger, but it seems
shallow to me now...
same goes with noticing others judging. i pretty much have
tunnel vision when shopping, so i wouldn't know if someone
was gawking at me or not, haha. :bootyshake:

I went through a lot of it when i was working in public , Mostly my fellow co-workers. Just because i was in mangment they thought i should always wear high heels. Wll a bad car wreck took care of that. Besides, i wasn't there too look pretty. I was there to get a job done.

The only time I really judge someone is when they are wearing something they really shouldn't be. Like when someone overweight is wearing something way to tight. Or this one woman who came to a job interview with a mini-skirt and tube top. Though normally my judging then is more "what were you thinking when you put that on?" I know I can't pull off things, so I avoid them.
I personally can't wear what most women would. Layering and such just causes me to get hot and since I'm warmer than most already, I can't deal with that. So, if I see a look that doesn't require layering to achieve, I'll try to remember it for later.

I do sometimes. I usually get ideas on what might look good on myself and and other times I judge what maybe I would never wear ...depends.

Nope I've never felt like that. probably because I could care less what some random, nobody in the store thinks of me.
As far as judging someone, I think people make to be a deal over it. People judge, deal with it. it's a vital and at times necessary part of life. Now that doesn't mean you should judge a person badly because their clothes may be from wal mart or goodwill instead of some fancy high end store. Judging the clothes based on rather or not the outfit is appropriate for the occasion however is not wrong. For example if I was hiring someone to work in an office setting and they showed up to interview in a bikini top and a pair of butt cheek showing shorts and stiletto heels I may very well give them the address to the closet strip club that is hiring but I'm sure as hell not hiring them.

no... its not just you. i feel that some woman can be very mean and hurtful for the clothes you wear. just becouse there pretty clothes people have no right to judge others on clothes. everybody has there on style they like so why not. :angry7:

Interesting!!! But we are human and we all judge one another whether we are male or female. The ones that judge females because of status or fashion were raised to believe they are better than anyone elese. We all put our pants or panties on one leg at a time. We all poop and no matter what it all stinks!!!! no matter who you are.

Chalk me up for being one of those oblivious ones. I'm not a shopper, and I've never been into fashion. When I'm in a store, I'm basically focused on getting what I need and get out as quickly as possible. I barely notice people and couldn't care less if they are saying anything about me. I'm happy with who I am, and really don't care if others don't like my "style" or not. It works for me, and that's all that really matters.
Occasionally I do notice other people. Mostly if I see something that complements a person nicely, I'll notice and think very positive thoughts. I'll notice people who seem to be having a bad day, and say a prayer to myself that I hope their day improves. If someone looks confused, I ask if I can help them out - meet some pretty nice people that way.

I don't believe that ALL women or people judge others. Maybe those individual who are fairly shallow or coming from their ego judge others.
I don't judge a book by it's cover and I'm not overly concerned about whether or not someone is impressed with my package.
It's a two-way street. If a person is insecure about their physical appearance they might also be paranoid about how others view them.
I look at it this way. I don't believe in judging others so I naturally assume that others are not judging me. It's a personal choice to view it all from that angle.

Unless someone is comatose, they routinely are judging others. Those judgements may be shallow, inaccurate, in-depth, accurate or, anything in between.
I don't judge a book by it's cover and I'm not overly concerned about whether or not someone is impressed with my package.

Such judgements as are made aren't necessarily based upon external appearances. That said, it would seem that a greater percentage of people do indeed make superficial judgements.

It may be a personal choice however, others do judge you nevertheless. From a supervisor at work, a cop who pulls you over to a job interviewer; people judge people.
